House Dems Want Kushner Gone

A group of 25 House Democrats yesterday wrote a letter to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, calling for the firing of Advisor-On-All-the-Things Jared Kushner. Citing a series of reports raising red flags about Kushner’s security clearance issues and conflicts of interest, the members say that they believe Kushner’s presence is a growing threat to national security. “It is impossible for the American people or their elected Representatives to have faith that Jared Kushner will put their interests above his own personal and financial interests ... The only path forward is clear: Jared Kushner must resign immediately. If he will not, we believe it is your duty as White House Chief of Staff to fire him,” they wrote to Kelly. The letter was led by Congressman Don Beyer (D-VA) and signed by Congresswomen Nanette Diaz Barragán (D-CA), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Grace Napolitano (D-CA), Norma Torres (D-CA), and Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), and Congressmen Anthony Brown (D-MD), Rubén Gallego (D-AZ), Hank Johnson (D-GA), and Ted Lieu (D-CA), among others. See the letter here.
