Associate Director, State Initiatives (NYC)
Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention advocacy organization in the country, is seeking a full-time Associate Director of State Initiatives to run the day to day operation for the State Initiatives Department. This work includes coordinating with state and local campaigns, tracking priorities and projects for the Senior Advisor to the President, tracking Moms Demand Action & Everytown Survivor Network volunteers running for office, and coordinating the Moms Demand Action & Survivor Network volunteers campaign trainings. As the counterweight to the gun lobby, our work has a very strong focus on pushing for stronger gun laws in state legislatures and beating back dangerous laws on the federal level.
Ideal candidates are entrepreneurial, collaborative and passionate, with proven success in electoral campaigns or organizing and advocacy training programs. We are looking for someone with strong communication and project management skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and balancing many projects at once. The position will work in close collaboration with Everytown's Communications, Policy, Research, Field and Digital teams. The position reports to the Senior Advisor to the President. Applicants must be a self-starter, collaborative thinker, and team player.
