Hasan Minaj Gets His Own Political Show on Netflix
The Daily Show’s Hasan Minhaj has landed a deal with Netflix for a political weekly talk show which will “explore the modern cultural and political landscape with depth and sincerity.” The yet-to-be-named program will be the first comedy talk hosted by an Indian American. Minhaj -- whose star has seen a rapid rise since he hosted the first White House Correspondent Association Dinner of the Trump era -- will continue as a Correspondent on The Daily Show until July. Netflix has already committed to 32 episodes, but a launch date has not yet been announced. “I’m thrilled to be joining the Netflix family as the country braces for another election season,” the 32-year-old said. “And like you, I cannot wait to find out who [Russian President Vladimir] Putin picks this time.” Congrats, Minaj!
