Collective PAC Announces New Slate of Candidates
The Collective PAC -- the political action committee run by husband and wife team Quentin and Stefanie James and which recruits, trains, and funds progressive Black candidates -- announced their new slate of candidates this week. The 26 candidates are running for statewide, federal, and municipal offices, and many are set to make history. At a time when only three African Americans currently hold statewide elected office, Collective PAC is working with Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Setti Warren as well as with Sheila Oliver, who is running for Lt. Governor of New Jersey and if elected would be the first Black woman to ever hold the post. They’re also endorsing Darlene McDonald, who is aiming to unseat Congresswoman Mia Love (R-UT), the sole Black Republican woman in the House. Additionally, they’re supporting Obama appointee Lauren Underwood, who is the only woman of color running to unseat Tea Party Congressman Randy Hultgren (R-IL). Check out all the candidates here.
