Elizabeth for MA is planning to organize training sessions for promising college students, recent graduates, and others interested in gaining practical skills in digital communication, organizing and grassroots political action. The campaign’s objective is to help develop the next generation of progressive campaign volunteers and staffers and give them immediate campaign experience in 2018.

Elizabeth for MA is looking for a Training Director to develop and coordinate this training program.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the Training Director will include working with others on the campaign to:

  • Establish a timeline and oversee a budget for the training program.
  • Devise and execute a recruitment plan that targets:
    • A diverse group of talented and hard-working up-and-coming progressive organizers interested in social media, small-dollar fundraising, and 21st century grassroots organizing.
    • Experienced political operatives to participate as trainers.
  • Organize the curriculum, teaching program and other logistics for training events.
  • Maintain relationships with progressive organizations that can provide/receive assistance to/from the training participants.

Skills & Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • At least four years experience in grassroots organizing for electoral or advocacy campaigns.
  • Experience coordinating training programs for other campaigns or advocacy organizations.
  • Strong ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changing work priorities.
  • Capacity and desire to work long hours in a campaign setting.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to keep a cool head under pressure.

Experience with digital organizing is highly preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience. This position will be based in Boston, MA. Some travel may be required.
